‘Sanctions fail to impede Iran advances’

During a meeting with visiting Malaysia’s House of Representatives speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia in Tehran on Monday, Salehi said Western pressures have failed to hinder the scientific production in Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister also referred to the great potential for further development of bilateral trade between the two countries, stressing Tehran’s willingness for the expansion of all-out ties with Kuala Lumpur.

The top Malaysian lawmaker, for his part, stated that his country holds the Iranian government and nation in considerable respect and is committed to deepen and elevate its relations with Iran.

Earlier in the day, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined the importance of developing ties between Iran and Malaysia, stating the two nations’ strong and intimate cooperation contributes to the promotion of unity and solidarity in the Muslim world.

Making the remarks during a meeting with Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, the senior Iranian legislator cautioned that arrogant powers seek to hamper Muslim states’ economic, technological and scientific development by means of intervention in their domestic affairs.

Larijani further said Majlis supports every effort aimed at strengthening ties with Malaysia in all spheres.

The Malaysian lower parliament speaker stated that his country is keen to expand ties with Iran and use its experiences in various fields.
