New arrival: An Australian woman gave birth to a baby girl while wrapping presents under a tree
An Australian woman received a special present today when she gave birth to a baby girl under her Christmas tree.
She was wrapping presents in her home in Gagebrook, on the island of Tasmania, when she went into labour.
Shortly after midnight, just about the time when Santa Claus is beginning his own deliveries, the woman gave birth to a baby girl under the decorations of her Christmas tree.
Ambulance officers had arrived at the house while the woman, who has not been named, was about to give birth and decided not to move her – prompting a spokesman for the Tasmanian Service to make a fittingly Yuletide comment.
‘To deliver a birth at 12.06am on Christmas Day is a special event for us,’ said Mr Bruce Connor.
‘It was special because it was under the Christmas tree at home and I believe that the intensive care paramedic was wearing a pair of antlers at the time.’
It was not known whether this was a jokey comment, or whether the paramedic was genuinely wearing a pair of antlers on his hat to celebrate the arrival of Christmas.
‘I would assume the patient was in labour to a point where delivery was imminent,’ said Mr Connor.
‘Rather than being able to move to the ambulance to proceed to hospital, they had to deliver the baby at the house.’.
The birth went well, he said, adding: ‘It’s a great way to bring in the festive period.’

I seriously doubt she was UNDER the tree Maybe in the same room as it, or next to it, but under it? Me thinks not.

Hmm, funny this, there was an identical story in a magazine (Take a Break or similar) a few weeks back from last year…. surely she would have moved AWAY from the tree and presents? I would!!!

Why would she give birth under a tree?! Don’t believe it for a second

Yeah right,! I’m sure she didn’t need to stay under the tree.I had my baby on my own,but only ’cause the midwife said I wouldn’t have him till later and left me..But I did manage to get into bed. PS.I had him 20mins later.
