Sudanese warplanes pound major town in South Sudan
Press TV – Sudanese warplanes have pounded a major town in South Sudan amid escalating border tensions and growing fears of a all-out war between the two neighbors. The attack occurred in the early hours of Thursday when five bombs targeted a strategic bridge on the edge of Bentiu, the capital of the oil-rich Unity border state, AFP reported. There were reportedly no casualties in the airstrike, the first major attack against the new-born state of South Sudan by its northern neighbor since it gained independence from the Khartoum law in July.
