Some 7,195 candidates, among them independent and opposition figures, are running for 250 parliamentary seats.
The candidates running on different platforms have made various promises to Syrians.
“My aims if I reach the parliament are supporting small and medium projects and enhancing the quality of Syrian products,” candidate Anas al-Jaza’eri told Press TV.
The ministry of interior has voiced complete readiness for the first multi-party elections under the new constitution approved by Syrians in a referendum in February.
Officials said that 12,152 voting centers have been set up across Syria.
The elections are regarded as a crucial part of President Bashar al-Assad’s reform program, aimed at ending the unrest in the country.
