A third grade teacher was jailed after she exploited her students for her own sexual gratification.
Kimberly Crain, 50, a third-grade teacher, faced life in prison for multiple counts of sexual exploitation of children under 12, possession of child pornography, as well as charges of conspiracy to commit sexual exploitation and lewd sexual abuse.
Crain was accused of asking her students to dress in sexy lingerie that she bought them while she took sexually explicit photos of the students while they were changing into the underwear.
Among the evidence introduced in court were photographs Crain took of the girls, including photos taken by a hidden video camera that showed the girls naked as they changed into the underwear she bought them.
During the trial, when mothers of the students were going to testify against her, the Oklahoma school teacher surprised everyone by pleading guilty to all 31 charges of child pornography and exploitation charges.
“This is a disturbing case of abuse, as parents put their trust in teachers to teach and protect their children. This teacher violated that trust,” Samantha King, a mother of young children told YourJewishNews.com.
She was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Crain tearfully apologized to her family members, friends, parents and her students.
“To my mom and dad, I want to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry I had to go and disappoint you like this.” she said.
“I regret my actions. Please accept my apologies,” she begged her students and their families.
