A 17-year-old teenage pilot has become the youngest person to fly solo around the world in a small aircraft.
Mack Rutherford, who is aged approximately 17 years and 64 days according to Guinness World Records (GWR), landed in Bulgaria on Aug. 24 following a five-month journey across 52 countries.
The teen aviator had departed from the same city on March 23 at the age of 16 in the hopes of achieving the world record. He celebrated his 17th birthday during the record-breaking trip.
He flew across the Mediterranean and through the Sahara to the Congolese jungle before flying through Mozambique and Madagascar and the Mauritius island of Rodrigues. He then went on to the Seychelles and the Yemeni island of Socotra, before flying through Oman, the UAE, India, China, South Korea, and Japan…. Source
