Maximilian Pirner (1853 – 1924) was a Czech artist known for his mythological paintings, which would often involve classical stories from ancient Greece or allegorical subject matter. Some of his paintings were rather “dark,” while others were very beautiful, often with female nudes. He studied both in Prague and Vienna.
