The 16th Annual Webby Awards
We’re just learned that TreeHugger is nominated in the green category for this year’s edition of the prestigious Webby Awards. We’re honored, and happy to find ourselves in such good company (you can see the other nominees here).
This means that we are in the running to ge an award based on the Webby Academy’s selection, but also based on votes from you, dear reader, and we’d really appreciate your support! You can vote from this page (if you’ve voted in the past, just sign in, and if it’s your first time, you’ll need to sign up to vote). Voting ends on April 26, 2012, but don’t wait until the last minute.

They’ve got an impressive group of judges: “The Academy is an intellectually diverse organization that includes members such as musicians Beck and David Bowie, Internet inventor Vint Cerf, President Editor-in-Chief of Huffington Post Media Group Arianna Huffington, Twitter Co-founder Biz Stone, “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening, foursquare Co-founder Dennis Crowely, Chairman and Founder of R/GA Bob Greenberg, Founder of Flipboard Mike McCue, actress Lisa Kudrow, Co-founder of Thrillist Ben Lerer, and actor Adrian Grenier. Members also include writers and editors from publications such as The New York Times, Wired, Details, Fast Company, Elle, and The Los Angeles Times. The 15th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states and generated nearly 2 billion media impressions worldwide.”
The Webby Award and Webby People’s Voice Award Winners will be announced on May 1, 2012. Winners will be honored at the 16th Annual Webby Awards hosted by Patton Oswalt at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City and live streamed on webbyawards.com on May 21, 2012.
