The Turkish premier is scheduled to travel to Tehran after participating in the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit in South Korea on March 26-27, Turkish media reported.
The meeting will focus on the next round of talks between Iran and the P5+1 group — Russia, China, France, Britain, the US, and Germany – about Tehran’s nuclear energy program.
Last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi discussed the nuclear energy program and talks with world powers with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.
Davutoglu said the new round of talks should be resumed and Turkey is ready to support Iran.
While Iran has announced its preparedness to continue the talks based on common grounds, it emphasizes that it will not give up any of its rights.
The US, Israel and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program, using this pretext to impose sanctions against Iran and threaten the country with military attack.
Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency. So, it is entitled to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
