A gunman remains at large as two men who witnessed the shooting death of an alleged bikie gang member in Sydney’s south prepare to face court.
Police are frustrated that the men in custody are refusing to cooperate with their investigations into the shooting of the 37-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon outside a unit block in Sans Souci.
Media reports say he was part of the Lone Wolf bikie gang.
His two friends who were with him ran away after he was shot in the head.
One was chased up a driveway and shot at during the ambush on Selmon Street.
It is alleged the shots were fired by one of three men who got out of a Range Rover.
The four-wheel drive and the men are yet to be found by police.
The two friends of the dead man, aged 32 and 23, are to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday, after being arrested on Wednesday afternoon and refused bail.
Superintendent Peter O’Brien from the St George Local Area Command said their refusal to cooperate with police was frustrating.
“This code of silence, or whatever you like to call it, is a problem for police,” he told Macquarie Radio on Thursday.
Police are asking the public to contact them if they saw a 2005 Range Rover with the NSW number plate GB84AO, which sped down Campbell Street after the shooting.
It has not been reported stolen, Supt O’Brien said.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and affray, while a 32-year-old is charged with concealing a serious indictable offence, affray, and possessing a prohibited weapon.
