The two servicemen, understood to be in their late teens or early 20s, were on a routine exercise in the national park in Powys, mid-Wales on Saturday.
Officials have released no details about the cause of the two deaths.
According to a military source, the training session the men took part in was “intense” and that the deaths did not include firearms or a fall.
This is while a third soldier is in a serious condition in hospital, raising questions about whether the servicemen were pushed too far by their commanders.
Conservative MP for Monmouth David Davies, who is also a former member of the TA, described the deaths as “a terrible tragedy” in an interview with the BBC.
Davies added that military training can involve carrying heavy equipment and working to a deadline, meaning that soldiers would be forced to push themselves hard in hot weather.
