A 65-year-old woman has injured her hip after being pushed over by an intruder lurking in the walk-in wardrobe of her southwest Sydney home.
Police say she was woken by a light in a walk-in wardrobe at the Bexley residence about 5.30am (AEST) on Thursday.
When she went to investigate, she was confronted by the intruder who pushed her to the ground before running from the room.
The noise woke up the woman’s husband who went to her aid.
She was taken to St George Hospital suffering suspected hip injuries.
Police are now looking for a man of medium height and build, 25 to 30 years old and with a tanned complexion. He was wearing a black beanie and black clothing.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Campbell Street, Bexley at the time is urged to contact Kogarah Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
