4 US-led soldiers killed in Afghanistan

In the latest incident, a foreign soldier was killed in a bomb attack which struck a convoy of US-led troops in southern Afghanistan.

ISAF has not announced the nationality of the dead soldier. However, most of the foreign troops deployed in the region are American.

Three other US-led soldiers also lost their lives in separate incidents in the country on Thursday, taking the death toll of US-led forces in Afghanistan so far this year to more than 90.

According to official figures released by the website icasualties.org, the latest deaths brings to 2940 the number of foreign soldiers killed in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion of the Asian country in 2001.

Insecurity continues to rise across Afghanistan despite the presence of tens of thousands of US-led troops.
