A man died when the car he was driving collided with a truck on a highway northwest of Brisbane.
The collision occurred on the Brisbane Valley Highway south of Esk just before 2pm (AEST) on Thursday, police said.
The truck driver is believed to have escaped injury.
The highway has been closed.
Earlier, a woman hurt in a serious crash in far north Queensland on Tuesday died in hospital.
The woman’s car left the road at Brinsmead, in Cairns, crashed into pole and rolled about 12.10am (AEST), police say.
The 23-year-old had to be freed from the car and was rushed to Cairns Base Hospital, where she died on Thursday as a result of her injuries.
A 28-year-old, the only passenger in the vehicle, was treated for minor injuries.
Forensic investigations continue.
As the accident occurred during the Queensland Police Christmas road operation, the state’s holiday road toll was revised from nine to 10, a spokeswoman said.
