Emmanouil Karalis ended up second in the men’s pole vault, jumping over 5.80 meters in the final to earn himself silver.
He narrowly missed on gold but completed a very successful showing by the Greek athletes in Istanbul.
Karalis has the National Polevault Record of 5.86m, set on Feb 18, 2023, in Athens, Greece.
He was beaten by 24-year-old Sondre Guttormsen’s 5.80m in delivered Norway the first-ever European Indoor pole vault gold medal.
