One effective way to block police is to use the way they do policing against them. Police have always favored the tactic of sitting like a snake in the grass and waiting for their prey. They hide behind walls, bushes, buildings, and even sit in the dark. It is a way that they can easily extort and steal money from the public while exerting the least amount of effort possible. Police typically find these types of hiding spots in public areas, meaning if they can be there, so can you.
In the video shown, Copblocker Ryan Scott (founder of DeKalb County Cop Block) decided to block two cops hiding in a church parking lot while they waited to extort people for signal and stop sign laws. These type of laws fit into the category “no victim, no crime.” While someone failing to use a signal may be annoying, unless they have caused an accident in doing so, there is no injured party or victim. These laws simply translate to revenue generation for the state.
After walking up to the police cruisers, Scott and his secondary cameraman stood and filmed the officers within close proximity. Approximately ten minutes pass when the cops decide that they’ve wasted enough taxpayer money discussing their favorite sports teams and start to drive away. Ironically, the officer finally asks if there’s anything he can help the copblockers with, as if “helping” were his real reason for asking.
Apparently stealing isn’t much fun when someone has a camera pointed at you.
