Three men have been charged over a confrontation in Sydney’s west in which police say a man tried to shoot a Hells Angels bikie.

Police say a man was walking in Parramatta about 4:45pm (AEDT) yesterday when he got into an argument with the bikie and another man who is a Hells Angels associate.

The 31-year-old allegedly pulled out a pistol and pointed it at one of the men before pulling the trigger, but the gun did not discharge.

Police say they stopped the gunman as he drove nearby soon afterwards, and found a loaded pistol in the car.

Officers then intercepted the two other men, aged 21 and 26, in a car at Merrylands, and allegedly found a small quantity of the drug ice inside.

The 31-year-old has been charged with offences including aggravated possession of a firearm in a public place and assault.

He is being held in custody to face Parramatta Local Court today.

The other men have both been charged with affray and concealing a serious offence.

The 21-year-old was released on bail to face court next month, but the 26-year-old was refused bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court today.
