Netanyahu reportedly made the remark in a private meeting with US President Barack Obama on Monday.
During the meeting, Obama urged Netanyahu to put off military action against Iran to, as he claimed, give diplomacy and economic pressure a chance to work.
“I think that there’s time for diplomacy and in any case I am not taking any options off the table, including a military option.” Obama reportedly said.
Netanyahu told Obama that he has not made a decision about attacking Tehran, reportedly adding that “the pressure (on Iran) is growing, but time is growing short.”
Before the meeting, Obama had told reporters that “when I say all options are at the table, I mean it.”
“We do believe there is still a window that allows for a diplomatic resolution to this issue,” he had said.
Netanyahu, however, had reiterated earlier that “when it comes to Israel’s security, Israel has the right, the sovereign right, to makes its own decisions.”
“My supreme responsibility as prime minister of Israel is to ensure that Israel remains the master of its fate,” he added.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program, using this pretext to impose sanctions against Iran and threaten the country with military attack.
Israeli officials have recently ramped up their war rhetoric, threatening Iran with military strikes in case the US-engineered sanctions against the country fail to force Tehran into abandoning its nuclear energy program.
Iran has denied the allegations and promised a crushing response to any military strike against the country, warning that any such measure could result in a war that would spread beyond the Middle East.
