Awake Goy Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip -Israeli occupation forces opened on Saturday morning fire at Palestinian farmers in the east of the Gaza city, forcing farmers to leave their work.
Witnesses said that the Israeli occupation forces stationed on the Israeli side of the borderline opened fire on the farmers while they were working in their farms.
One of the farmers, Ali Dalloul, told Days of Palestine that he was obliged to leave his farm as fast as he could with his sons, who were working with him, after the start of Israeli fire towards them.
Palestinian farmers, whose farms are located within or close to the Israeli-enforced buffer zone along the Gaza borders, face such situation almost every day.
Israeli occupation authorities have maintained the buffer zone since 2005, although its exact limits have changed over the years and remain unclear in many cases.
Approximately 35 percent of Palestinian agricultural land in Gaza is inaccessible without high personal risk, according to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs last month reported at least 42 cases of Israeli occupation forces opening fire on Palestinians in the buffer zone, on both land and sea.
