According to a report published by the Turkish Takvim news agency on Tuesday, Khyam Asimo has left the synagogue in the town of Kyrenia for the southern part of Cyprus mainly populated by Greek Cypriots.
Cypriot officials said they launched an investigation into the matter.
Turkish media recently reported that Mossad agents regularly meet in the synagogue as the Israeli agency is seeking to take advantage of the Mediterranean oil and gas by establishing its base in Kyrenia.
Other reports show that Jewish businessmen have made large investments in Kyrenia regarding the Mediterranean oil and gas.
