On Friday, at least six protesters were detained at the New York Stock Exchange in Lower Manhattan on charges of disorderly conduct and failing to follow proper commands from the police.
“Thousands or hundreds of cops are coming in. I don’t know how much money is spent for that….,” a protester said.
On Tuesday, millions of Americans are expected to take part in the coordinated strike against corporate greed and economic inequalities in their country.
Earlier this week, at least 24 protesters were arrested at the Merchants Exchange Building across from Wells Fargo’s San Francisco headquarters.
Activist groups are targeting corporate stockholder meetings this spring to draw attention to economic disparity in the United States and to promote a variety of other causes.
