One man is dead and eight people have been injured after a three-vehicle accident in northern NSW.
Three cars collided at the intersection of the Bruxner and New England highways five kilometres north of Tenterfield at about 12.45pm (AEDT) on Sunday, NSW police said.
One man, believed to be aged in his 50s, died and up to eight other people have been injured.
Both lanes of the New England Highway were closed and a number of local diversions were in place on Sunday afternoon for northbound and southbound traffic.
The highway was not expected to be fully reopened for some time, police said.
