Plane crash kills two in east Pakistan

The two-seater Cessna 150 aircraft came down in the wealthy Model Town neighborhood of Lahore, located 253 kilometers (160 miles) southeast of the Pakistani capital Islamabad, on Thursday.

Officials and witnesses said no one was hurt on the ground.

The aircraft, which belonged to a local flying club named Hybrid Aviation, had flown from private Walton Airport, and crashed within seven to eight minutes of takeoff.

The plane came down five kilometers away from the airport.

Officials with Hybrid Company said fight instructor Anita Qureshi along with the trainee pilot Waqar Asif were killed in the mishap.

TV footage showed rescue teams at the scene pulling the bodies out of the mangled wreckage of the plane.

Security forces have sealed off the office of Hybrid Aviation in Lahore, and have taken all of its record in custody.

They have also ordered all aircraft of the company be grounded after the crash.
