An Adelaide teenager, who spent her 13th birthday in custody on an attempted murder charge, could be home for Christmas.
The girl is accused of bashing a woman and leaving her in a shopping trolley.
She appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court on Friday and was granted bail after the court was told she had recently spent her birthday in custody.
The prosecution objected to the decision and it may be overturned by the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Lydia Makiv revoked the teenager’s bail after she breached the terms of her home detention by ripping off her electronic monitoring bracelet.
On Friday, Ms Makiv warned the teenager she was being given her last chance.
“You have to get it through your head, if you breach (your bail) in any way, major or minor, there won’t be a third chance,” she said.
Prosecutor Tom Ellison requested a stay on release until an application was made to the Supreme Court to review the decision.
The girl’s co-accused, a 13-year-old boy, will appear in court on January 4.
She will return to court on January 16.
