Senate Bill 1813 has passed the Senate and is about to be voted on in the House. Within this bill is a provision to install black box data recorders into all vehicles starting in 2015.
Bill 1813, “Mandatory Event Data Recorders”, a.k.a. MAP-21 will be installed into all vehicles. Failure to do so will result in civil penalties against individuals.
The official title of the bill is the “Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act”. It is championed by Harry Reid and Barbara Boxer.
The bill states that: “Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall revise part 563 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, to require, beginning with model year 2015, that new passenger motor vehicles sold in the United States be equipped with an event data recorder that meets the requirements under that part.”
The data recorder would be property of the owner of the car; however the government would have complete access to the data inside under specific circumstances such as court order. The Secretary of Transpiration would be charged with extracting the data through investigation or inspection.
This gross violation of personal privacy and constitutional rights appears to be justifiable enough for Congress to deem this bill appropriate. Allowing the US government to spy on the American public while they drive is of no consequence to our elected officials.
This is the same bill that gives the IRS authority to revoke the travel rights of any citizen that owes the glorified collection agency $50,000 dollars or more in back taxes. By the US Constitution, only capital gains can be taxed, not personal income. The IRS was created in 1913 to go along with the inception of the Federal Reserve Bank; the monster created by the banking Elite on Jekyll Island in the 1920’s.
Now the US government wants to listen in on our conversations while driving and monitor where we go while controlling if we travel by plane by enforcing illegal taxes onto the American public.
There are systems in place to stop an inebriated person from starting their car with the assistance of biometric facial recognition software.
The US government wants to pass legislation to spy on Americans behind the wheel of their own cars, make sure they pay illegally imposed taxes and control their behavior just as Orwell predicted.
Car manufacturers are being pressured to install these black boxes in lieu of the passing of the bill. In anticipation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) back in 2006 “encouraged” but did not require car makers to install the black boxes.
In 2011, David Strickland of the NHTSA said that the US government was considering forcing this black box technology onto the car manufacturers and recall millions of Toyotas to refit them with these devices.
This year, Strickland warned the NHTSA would make a formal announcement about these black boxes and the mandates for installing them. He is highly confident that the MAP-21 bill will pass.
Does he know something we do not?
