Triple zero pests call in penis problems

Overworked Victorian paramedics have complained about the number of nuisance triple zero calls made in 2011 for relatively minor health issues.

Boils, penis problems and constipation are among the complaints made by people wasting ambulance workers’ time, the Sunday Herald Sun reports.

According to the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA), more than 1000 emergency calls were made in the 12 months to October 1, 2011 that turned out to be a waste of time.

The numbers have prompted the ESTA to warn that lives will be put in danger if people with genuine emergencies are unable to get through.

Of the nuisance calls recorded, 100 men reportedly called up to complain of penis problems, 637 calls were for constipation, 178 for earaches and 233 for toothaches.

One man called triple zero 68 times to report he had found a way to invent a time machine.
