In an interview with the BBC on Monday 24 April, Cameron admitted that his government had made an “important mistake” while dealing with a potential strike by fuel tanker drivers last month.
“Look, I think sometimes a presentational mistake can be an important mistake, that’s why the fuel strike issue I wanted to raise”, said Cameron as he slammed British ministers’ poor communication skills.
Cameron’s comments come as a new Guardian/ICM poll indicated that support for his party dropped a whopping six points in a month, from 39 to 33 percent, while the Labour party leapt into an eight-point lead from 36% to 41%.
The poll interviewed adults aged over 18 and asked them about their voting intentions for Westminster not for the council elections which are to be held next week across Britain.
Moreover, MPs on the Commons public administration select committee are to launch a scathing attack on ministers’ policy mistakes on Tuesday 25 April, reported The Guardian.
“Policy decisions are made for short-term reasons, little reflecting the longer-term interests of the nation”, MPs are to say.
