The house in Clarendon Vale was destroyed by fire on Saturday, causing an estimated $150,000 damage.
The occupants managed to escape without injury.
The house will most likely be demolished.
Fire investigators believe the blaze may have been sparked from an unattended candle in a bedroom.
Police have urged the public to supervise the use of candles and always ensure smoke alarms are properly installed and working.
