Egypt denies price hike of 90 strategic commodities

In a statement issued on Friday, the Egyptian government denied the reports of a price hike for 90 strategic commodities across the countries, noting that these reports caused a massive crisis, RT reported.

The statement indicated that the claims of price hikes in the Egyptian market were false as they were not issued by the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.

Meanwhile, the statement stressed that the prices of most basic commodities in the Egyptian market are still unchanged.

At the same time, the statement pointed to a decline in prices during May compared to April of some commodities including fish, poultry, milk and fresh vegetables.

Other commodities such as meat and fruits have maintained stable prices.
