A man has died in a collision between two cars following a police pursuit in Sydney’s west.
It’s alleged police noticed a car driving erratically in Auburn just after midnight (AEDT).
Police say a pursuit began but officers lost sight of the Mitsubishi as it drove over a crest on Cumberland Road.
The Mitsubishi collided with a Mazda at the intersection of Cumberland Road and Albert Road.
A man inside the Mitsubishi was taken to hospital but died a short time later, while three others inside the car were treated for various injuries.
The male driver of the Mazda was also taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A police investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
