Brisbane police have been doorknocking north-side homes and businesses looking for a man who tried to abduct a teenage girl.
Police say the man attacked the 13-year-old while she was on her way to school at Enoggera on Thursday morning.
Inspector Robert Hytch says the student fought back and managed to run away.
“We appeal to anyone especially in the local school community to come forward, but a couple of the girls from the same school were walking ahead of this student and have seen this man behaving in a strange behaviour,” he said.
“They’ve been able to walk around him without any sort of incident but he certainly gave them the creeps.
“We’re treating this as very serious. We’ve had police on the ground today, we’ve conducted searches of the local area, we’ve done doorknocks, we’re still taking statements from possible witnesses.”
