Iran, Saudi FMs greet on sidelines of OIC meeting

Jakarta, March 6, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif greeted his Saudi counterpart Adel al-Jubeir on Sunday on the sidelines of meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jakarta.

IRNA reporter in Jakarta said that they greeted each other in a short encounter.

According to Islamic and Iranian code of conduct, when two individuals encounter they shake hands and greet each other.

Due to the break-up of ties between the two governments, the greeting was of importance for reporters.

OIC foreign ministers held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the issue of Palestine and Qods al-Sharif.

Ministers and heads of diplomatic missions from 57 Muslim countries, including Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, attended the OIC ministerial meeting in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.

Jakarta meeting is to highlight the systematic crimes against humanity and war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli leaders against the Palestinian people and human rights activists.

Summit of Leaders of the OIC will pass the draft resolution provided by the foreign ministers about Palestine and al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday.
