Two men have been charged after a boat was set on fire and sank at Fitzroy Island, off Cairns in far north Queensland yesterday.
Police allege the 17-year-old and 23-year-old men stole fuel from another boat and used it to set fire to a jetty.
The fire spread several metres to the boat, causing it to explode and sink.
Both men have been charged with stealing and endangering property by fire.
They will appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this month.
