The search for a Melbourne man who failed to surface while swimming in the Murray River in northern Victoria has resumed.
The 50-year-old went for a swim in the river about 6pm (AEDT) on Saturday at Strathmertin, near the Victorian/NSW border.
His family contacted police after he failed to resurface.
Police from both Victoria and NSW began searching for the man but suspended their search at 8.45pm due to bad light.
The search was resumed at 8am Sunday.
